The orders are given shutting down all airports nationwide and banning takeoffs of all civilian aircraft by the FAA.

This phone call is followed by several others culminating in the phone call where Todd Beamer's famous, 'Let's Roll' comment was overheard by Lisa Jefferson at 9:55 AM.
President George W. Bush makes a statement from Emma Booker Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida calling the crashes an "apparent terrorist attack.
American Airlines Flight 77 crashes into the west side of the Pentagon at 9:38 AM EST, killing all 64 aboard and 125 on the ground.
