10 years since 9/11

In 27 days it will be the 10 year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. I will continue to highlight those events of 2001.

United Airlines Flight 175 strikes the south World Trade Center tower at 9:02 AM EST killing all 65 aboard and countless others within the building.

9:08 A.M. - The FAA bans all takeoffs of flights going to or through New York airspace.

9:17 A.M. - The FAA shuts down all New York City-area airports.

9:21 A.M. - All bridges and tunnels into Manhattan are closed.

The FAA contacts NORAD's Northeast Air Defense Sector, notifying them of the suspected hijacking of American Airlines Flight 77.
